Solution Architect (Interim)

Holding the Seat, Not Advising From Outside

Some engagements need the architecture seat filled β€” someone accountable for the design, making the technical decisions, and staying hands-on until the solution runs. That is an interim role rather than an advisory one: decisions get made and built, not recommended and left.

This is the DSLC Model applied to one specific solution, by me, for as long as the seat needs holding. The engagement is delivered under Alpha Phase Consulting AB β€” the model and platform are Alpha Phase Studio AB’s; putting them to work inside your organization is consulting.

Design, Build, and Run Are One Job

Splitting design, development, and operations across different people is how solutions drift from intent: the architecture gets handed off as a document, the build makes different trade-offs under deadline pressure, and operations inherits something nobody who runs it actually designed.

I stay accountable for all three, worked iteratively rather than as a sequential handoff β€” refining the design as development surfaces what the plan missed, and building the operational foundation in from the start rather than bolting it on at the end.

How I Can Help

Architecture & Design β€” Structuring what the solution needs to do and designing the technical architecture to fit your team’s actual capabilities and constraints, not a generic best-practice template.

Hands-On Development β€” Working as technical lead or embedded engineer through implementation, so decisions get made and built, not just recommended and left for someone else to interpret.

Legacy Modernization β€” Designing and executing a realistic modernization path while maintaining business continuity and managing risk.

Operational Handover β€” Establishing the monitoring, feedback loops, and documentation your team needs to run the solution without me.

What Actually Changes

Integration failures get caught in design instead of production. The solution that ships reflects the reasoning behind it, not just whatever got built under deadline pressure. The team inherits something they can extend, not something they are afraid to touch.

The measure of success is that your team can run it without me β€” not that a design document exists.

A Good Fit If

You have a specific solution that needs the architecture seat held β€” a new build, a modernization, or an initiative that has stalled for want of someone accountable for the technical decisions.

If what you need is the team’s own capability built up rather than one solution delivered, that is DSLC Team Enablement. If the gap is the organization around the solution rather than the solution itself, that is Enterprise Architect (Interim).
